1. Who is SII Printek and how are they related to Seiko Group?

The Seiko Group consists of three different companies: Seiko Corporation, Seiko Epson, and Seiko instruments Inc (SII). SII Printek, Which stands for Seiko Instruments Inc. SII Printek, is a subsidiary company of Seiko Instruments Inc.

SII is a global leader in the manufacturing of precision instruments and micro electronics since its inception in 1937, and today are made up of 20 different companies. Through continued investment in research, Seiko Instruments Inc. has developed a wide range of innovative technologies, from turbo molecular pumps with magnetic bearings to scanning probe microscopes to nano-technologies used in the production of semi-conductors.

2. How does Triteck relates to SII Printek?

The founders of Triteck Inc. have been working with SII Printek since early 2001, and is instrumental in assisting SII Printek's market expansion into US. Today, Triteck is the only authorized distributor for the electronic piezo printhead JetT510 in North America, and is committed to champion the benefits of the SII Printek printhead.

3. I know about Seiko qualify, as represented by the Seiko Watch. How good are SII Printek printhead anyway?

What SII Printek has in common with the Seiko watch is the spirit of seiko, which literally means precision engineering.

It took the tenacity, determination and 28 years of unending desire to make the perfect watch that led to numerous technological advancements that eventually gave new birth to the latest release "Spring Drive". World showered these onto the Spring Drive: "the quiet revolution', a revolution in time, most remarkable, the latest innovation, the summit of watch making"

With the same spirit, the SII Printek team had a 10-year yearning to create the perfect piezoelectric printhead. It took tenacity, determination and time after time of continuous improvements to create the world's first non-stitched 510-nozzle printhead. JetT510 is in a class of its own, and is creating a quiet revolution of its own in the printing industry.

4. What media can the printhead print to?

Our print heads have been qualified on many of the common printing substrates, such as the PVC, vinyl, etc. Actual list of media depends on the type of ink used and the results of the ink qualification process.

5. What is the cost per nozzle range?

Our print heads are very competitively priced compared to other industry suppliers. Sample prices are comparable to industry norm, but our volume prices put your product cost much lower than any on the market. Please contact us for a specific price quote.

6. How do I interface to JetT510?

Via a 30 Pin Proprietary Parallel Interface

7. How many ink supply channels are used for one head?

Because the JetT510 is one head containing 510 nozzles and not several 128 nozzle heads "stitched" together, only one ink supply channel is needed. This allows a more compact and uncluttered print carriage.

8. What is the reliability of the JetT510?

We have witnessed JetT510 lasting up to 4 billion shots per nozzle and still going. In the most ideal working environment (approved ink, normal printing conditions, and regular maintenance), JetT510 may just perform up to this longevity, but actual head life will degrade in less than ideal environment.

9. How is the JetT510 "primed"?

The JetT510 can be primed either by pressure or suction

10. What inks are available for use with the JetT510?

Triteck and SII Printek offer an extensive qualification process to qualify any requested ink. In addition, Triteck has already qualified several major ink manufacturers' products.

11. Can the JetT510 heads be repaired if a failure occurs?

The manufacturing process which creates the JetT510 print head does not allow repairs to be made. The size, speed and productivity created by using the JetT510, along with the ability of the user to swap heads easily, making the JetT510 more than competitive in the cost/nozzle area.

12. If I were to develop a product using the JetT510, what support could I expect?

A first rate engineering team would assist you every step of your development. Tools such as the JetT510 Black Box along with the accompanying software allow you to control and drive the JetT510 print head. This tool can be used to test your driver software to make sure all the correct parameters are sent to the head. You can jet ink before you even build your prototype. After production, it can be used as a head test device before installing the heads in the shipping units.

13. In what applications are the JetT510 printhead currently being used?

JetT510 series printhead has been incorporated in Roland's AdvancedJet AJ-1000, just released in Q1 2006. AJ-1000 is a high speed grand format printer. To find out more about AJ-1000, visit Roland at www.rolanddga.com.

The Japanese printer manufacturer Kishu's HQ500 printer also incorporates the SII Printek's JetT510 series printhead. HQ500 is being used in coding and marking applications.
